What Is the Drop Box?

The Xcite! Drop Box is a convenient place to store any animations, sound files, Combos, etc.  that you want to use with your Xcite! items.  X4 and X5 items are No Modify, so you are not able to install items into them like you were able to with older Xcite! items.  The Xcite! Drop Box is provided to solve this problem for those who want to customize their Actions, Events or Effects, or who want to use Combos.  It also provides a quick user interface if you want to execute sound files at will.

By default the Xcite! Drop Box is a HUD item and so will attach to one of your HUD attachment points.  You will be able to tell whether or not you are wearing your Drop Box if you can see it on your display. If you need to move the Drop Box to another attachment point because something else conflicts with it you can do so, but it is recommended you move it to another HUD attachment point, rather than a regular body attachment point, so that you can see it.

Important: Xcite! will not be responsible for any items that you lose or damage by putting them into your Xcite! Drop Box.  To put items into your Drop Box you will need to drop the Drop Box in-world and transfer items to it.  This process does place you at risk of losing either your Drop Box or its contents when Second Life is having issues.  These issues are not controlled or caused by Xcite!, so we cannot be held liable for situations that arise from them. It is highly recommended that you make a copy of your Drop Box before adding items to it, and that you install items into the Drop Box that are copiable whenever possible, so that if you do experience inventory loss you have backup copies of these items.

If none of these options applies to you please send an IM to Alexisnow Resident in-world with your question.  Please be sure to state the question as clearly as you can, providing as much detail as you can about specifically what item you are asking about, what you are exactly trying to do and what you have already tried, describing what happened when you did it.  The more information you provide the better able we will be able to get you accurate answers.
