Important! In order to use the Xcite! Remote Control Web App you will need to:
- make sure the person wearing the compatible Xcite! Vibrator in-world has purchased the 'Xcite! Remote Control Kit'. Without the Kit the person will not be able to enable any kind of remote control of their item. If you plan to control your own items you will need to have made this purchase.
- make sure the person wearing the compatible Xcite! Vibrator in-world has enabled remote control on their Vibrator (click on the Vibrator, from the dialog box select 'Settings', then select 'Remote' and 'Turn On'.) If you plan to control your own items you will need to have enabled remote control on your own item in-world.
- make sure you know your Xcite! Website login information (this is different than your SL login information). Check here for information on getting/changing your password, and creating a new account if you do not have one already.
To begin using your Xcite! Remote Control Web App:
- Make sure your target is in-world, is wearing their compatible Xcite! Vibrator and has enabled remote control in their Vibrator menu. (If any of this is not true you will receive an error message when you try to connect to their item.)
- Load the web app (go to the URL listed in the notecard that came in the folder you received when you made your Xcite! Remote Control Web App purchase.)
- You will be asked for your avatar name and your Xcite! website password. Please note you must use your SL avatar name, not your display name. Please also note that your Xcite! website password is NOT your SL password.
- You will be asked for the name of the avatar whose Vibrator you wish to control. Please note you must provide their SL avatar name, not their display name. If you will be controlling your own Vibrator enter your avatar name here. The control window will load listing the name of the avatar you are controlling at the top and the compatible toys they are wearing along the bottom.
- Select the toy you wish to control by clicking the corresponding button at the bottom of the window.
- Select the sensation you wish to use by clicking one of the round buttons in the middle of the window.
- To start the action, move the slider on the right edge of the window upward on the meter. The higher you move the slider, the more intense the sensation will be.
You can change the intensity level at any time simply by moving the slider up or down.
You can change the sensation you are using on the fly by clicking another of the round buttons in the middle of the window.
To stop move the slider to the very bottom of the meter.
Controlling More Than One Toy
You can very easily control more than one toy at the same time if the person you are controlling is wearing more than one compatible toy at the same time:
- Follow the instructions above to get the first toy working.
- Select a new toy by clicking the corresponding button at the bottom of the window. Please note that the action on the first toy does not stop when you switch focus.
- Select the sensation you want to use on the second toy.
- Move the slider to begin using it.
Both toys are now active at the same time.
Please note that each toy is controlled independently. This means that any changes you make to sensation type or intensity level will apply ONLY to the toy that you are focused on, not to all worn toys. You switch between toys instantly simply by clicking the button at the bottom that corresponds to the toy you want to make changes to. It is important to note that you will need to turn each toy off independently as well.
Refreshing the Toy List
If the person wearing the Vibrator puts on or takes off a Vibrator you can refresh your toy listing on the Web app using the Refresh button in the upper right corner of the window.
Switching Avatars
If you want to switch which avatar you are controlling:
- Click the 'Change Avatar' button in the upper left corner of the window.
- Provide the name of the avatar in the dialog box.
