Troubleshooting

The color is too dark / too red.

if the color you end up with is too dark or too red it is likely because the Skin Texture you used as your base color is too dark.  Go back to Step 21 in the coloring instructions  and when you get to Step 27 either choose a lighter skin tone than the one you currently have selected or select the ‘Tintable’ skin tone.

If you already have the Tintable skin tone selected then the problem will be that the color you created in your color tile is too dark.  Return to Step 35 in the coloring instructions and create a slightly lighter/less red color.

The name of my X4 body part doesn’t show up in the Color Target box when I click it.

The most common reason for this is that you may have your EZ Click Sphere enabled for that body part.  The EZ Click Sphere is a large invisible sphere that creates a large click area so that your X4 body part is easily clickable.  If it is enabled however it will prevent you from being able to click directly on the body part itself, which you will need to be able to do while coloring it.  To fix this:

1.  Left click on your X4 body part and from the dialog box select ‘Options’.

2. From the dialog box select ‘Configure’ and open the web page that is presented.

3. Find the Profile for the body part that you wish to color - it should have a green checkmark next to it in the Profiles list.

4. From the drop down menu next to that Profile select ‘Change Appearance’.

5. Scroll down the Appearance page until you see the EZ Click Sphere in the list and uncheck it.

6.  Click the ‘Apply Changes button at the bottom of the page.

7.  Back in-world left click on your X4 body part and from the dialog box select ‘Options’.

8. From the dialog box select ‘Sync’.

9. From the dialog box select ‘Reload’.

Please allow the sync to complete without clicking anything.  The EZ Click Sphere will now be disabled so that you may click directly on your X4 body Part.  Don’t forget to re-enable the EZ Click Sphere when you are done coloring .

My skin isn’t listed in your Skin Matching System.

If your skin is not listed please make sure to add a request for your skin so that it gets into our To-Do list and then go to Step 21 in the coloring instructions  to color your X4 item manually.

To add a request for your skin:

5.  Scroll down the Appearance page until you see the red banner that says ‘Skin Match!’ and click the ‘Start’ button.

6.  Click the ‘My Skin Isn’t Listed’ at the bottom of the page.

7.  Fill in the requested information about your skin.  Please be as exact as possible.  ‘Who Makes Your Skin’ means the brand name (LAQ, Belleza, etc.)  The name of the skin is the model name (oftentimes that is a human name such as ‘Adam’ or ‘Veronica’ but can be other things.)

8.  Click the ‘Send information’ button at the bottom of the page.

Once you have added your skin request go to Step 21 in the coloring instructions to color your X4 item manually.
